I introduce myself, I am Inma Sharii, writer and artist born in Barcelona.
As a painter I found inspiration in India: a country that I fell in love with since my first contact in 2006.
I started learning Indian dance but years later I delved into the art of painting, making oil portraits inspired by Bollywood cinema.
I painted my friends, actresses from Indian cinema and I also made self-portraits.

My first collection of 18 oil portraits started in 2012 and finished in 2018, so it took me six years to get it ready. Now I feel it’s time to start my second collection.
To do this I have to travel to India again and take hundreds of photos for my next works of art.
I want to give visibility to Indian women, so that feminine art made by women is more recognized.

In a world of rush and quick results, hyper-realistic artists navigate against the current because our works take a long time to complete.
